Camber Coffee
Located on Market Street just a few minutes from the town centre, Camber Coffee is one of the big hitters in Newcastle’s speciality coffee scene.
The large building comprises of a coffee shop and bike shop. As of 2018, Camber is now under the management of North Shore Coffee Co.
Camber serves a range of filter coffees to try alongside their espresso-based coffees. They also serve food all day long.

Pink Lane Coffee
Another giant of Newcastle’s speciality coffee scene is Pink Lane Coffee. Located on Pink Lane, it’s just a stone’s throw from Central Station.
Pink Lane Coffee has been operating since 2012. The coffee is provided by their very own roastery, so you’ll get excellently fresh coffee. You can even buy a bag to take home, too.
As well as espresso-based drinks, Pink Lane offer other hot beverages as well as delicious food.

Flat Caps Coffee
Flat Caps Coffee is definitely one you’ll want to make a priority. Joe, the founder, was one of the pioneers in bringing speciality coffee to Newcastle.
Flat Caps serve coffees from Colonna, Has Bean, and Workshop, you’ll be drinking coffee from some of the country’s best roasters.
The menu offers espresso-based drinks, alternating filter coffees, other hot beverages like tea, and food is served from opening to closing.

Harvest (Ouseburn Coffee Co.)
Harvest is owned by Ouseburn Coffee Roasters and is located on St George’s Terrace, a few minutes’ walk away from West Jesmond station.
On offer are the regular espresso-based coffees as well as rotating filter coffees. A simple breakfast and brunch menu is also on offer to accompany your coffee.
The coffees from Ouseburn are available to buy at Harvest in bags of 300g.

Arch Sixteen Café
Located just over the River Tyne in Gateshead is Arch Sixteen Café.

Another just across the river in Gateshead is is Backyard Bike Shop. The café is located in front of the bike shop.
Espresso-based drinks are offered alongside pour-over coffee, refillable tea and hot chocolate. There is a brunch menu that is served until 5pm each day alongside small snacks.
After 5pm, cocktails replace the coffee if you want to neutralize all that caffeine.
